Job Description

The Head of M&A, APAC is a senior strategic leader responsible for originating, evaluating, executing, and integrating mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures across the region. Reporting directly to the APAC CFO, this role drives Hunter Douglas’s inorganic growth agenda and ensures seamless execution across all phases of the deal lifecycle.


This individual will partner closely with regional business leaders, global Corporate Development teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to shape the M&A roadmap, deliver high-quality transactions, and maximize post-deal value creation.


M&A Strategy and Execution

  • Define and execute the APAC M&A strategy in alignment with regional and global priorities.
  • Identify, source, and evaluate strategic opportunities across target markets and business segments.
  • Lead end-to-end deal processes, including valuation, financial analysis, commercial assessment, scenario modeling, and risk evaluation.
  • Drive cross-functional due diligence, coordinating Finance, Legal, Tax, HR, Operations, IT, Supply Chain, and other relevant teams.
  • Develop compelling investment cases, Board materials, and decision documents for senior leadership and global approval bodies.
  • Manage external advisors (investment banks, consultants, legal firms) and ensure disciplined documentation and governance throughout each transaction.


Integration Planning and Execution

  • Oversee all integration activities for acquired businesses, ensuring optimized onboarding, operational continuity, and cultural alignment.
  • Establish and manage integration governance structures, including PMO cadence and executive reporting.
  • Partner with functional and business teams to track synergy realization, KPIs, milestones, and change-management activities.
  • Champion integration best practices, continuously improving Hunter Douglas’s M&A integration framework based on lessons learned and regional nuances.


Strategic and Financial Analysis

  • Conduct deep market, competitive, and strategic analyses to support the regional growth agenda.
  • Evaluate long-term attractiveness, strategic fit, and financial performance of potential acquisition targets.
  • Maintain an active view of the deal landscape across priority APAC markets, anticipating opportunities and risks.
  • Provide data-driven insights and strategic recommendations to the CFO, regional leadership teams, and global Corporate Development.


Regional & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with APAC business leaders to align M&A and integration activities with operational and commercial strategies.
  • Serve as the primary APAC liaison with global Corporate Development on pipeline management, investment cases, and post-deal tracking.
  • Influence and advise stakeholders across geographies and functions, ensuring clarity, alignment, and disciplined execution.

  • Deliver high-quality strategic and analytical support to senior leadership as needed.
  • Lead or support special projects that contribute to regional transformation or long-term growth.


CANDIDATE PROFILE


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field; MBA, CFA, or equivalent advanced qualification strongly preferred.
  • 8–12+ years of progressive experience in M&A, Corporate Development, Investment Banking, Private Equity, or Strategy Consulting.
  • Demonstrated success leading end-to-end transaction processes and post-merger integration, ideally within manufacturing, industrials, consumer goods, or related sectors.
  • Exceptional financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills with strong strategic and commercial acumen.
  • Excellent communication and executive-level presentation skills; able to simplify complex information for senior stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams across diverse geographies and cultures within a matrix organization.
  • Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial analysis tools; familiarity with project management systems is a plus.
