Free Press Journal is building a serious, scalable digital video and social content engine and is looking for a Content Lead - Digital Video and Social to lead this transformation.
This is a Head of Social Media that sits at the intersection of editorial, performance, and distribution. You are here to decide how stories should be framed, positioned, and scaled across platforms, using data, instinct, and deep understanding of digital audiences.
What You Will Own
- Overall content strategy for digital video and social platforms
- Growth and audience development across: You Tube (long-form + Shorts), Instagram, X / other emerging platforms
- Platform-specific framing of news and stories (same story, different angle, different hook)
- Publishing logic, prioritisation, and tim ing
- Performance analysis and learning loops
- Translating data into clear editorial and framing inputs for newsroom teams
This role has formal authority to influence how content is framed and packaged, while respecting editorial independence and credibility.
What You Will Do
- Define and evolve FPJ’s digital content strategy across platforms
- Work closely with the video newsroom to:
- Identify which stories should be prioritised
- Suggest framing, hooks, and formats that work for digital
- Lead the social media and publishing team
- Own SEO, titles, descriptions, tags, metadata, and platform optimisation
- Track and analyse performance metrics:
- Views, CTR, retention, watch time, engagement
- Run weekly and monthly performance reviews
- Identify patterns in what’s working and what’s not
- Guide experimentation with formats, storytelling styles, and packaging
What Will Set You Apart
- Experience working with a newsroom or editorial teams
- Ability to reframe hard news for digital audiences without sensationalism
- Strong instinct for hooks, formats, and storytelling structures
- Experience scaling content systems, not just one-off wins
- Calm authority — able to challenge teams constructively
Work Structure
- Full-time, in-office role
- Location: Nariman Point, Mumbai
- Working days: Monday to Saturday
