About the Role:

The Deputy Director of Planning is a strategic leadership position responsible for the end-to-end financial and inventory health of our portfolios. You will lead the annual and seasonal sales planning cycles, ensuring that revenue targets are met through meticulous segment-level analysis and robust stakeholder alignment. This role requires a blend of analytical rigor, team leadership, and strategic foresight to optimize inventory and maximize conversions.


Roles and Responsibilities:


1. Strategic Sales & Revenue Planning

  • Omnichannel Planning: Develop and execute Annual, Seasonal, and Monthly Operating Plans (MOP) to drive business growth.
  • Granular Analysis: Lead revenue planning across multiple segments, including Business Units, fulfillment types, article levels, and gender categories.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and monitor actual performance against plans, providing actionable insights to bridge gaps.


2. Inventory & OTB Management

  • Open-to-Buy (OTB): Manage the OTB process and inward capacity for the category to ensure optimal stock levels.
  • Inventory Health: Monitor target opening inventory, track utilization, and proactively mitigate variances.
  • Assortment Optimization: Audit assortment health across key metrics and drive corrective actions to maximize sales conversions and sell-through rates.


3. Operational Excellence & Reporting

  • Data Visualization: Develop and implement sophisticated reporting formats that provide a 360-degree view of portfolio health.
  • Iterative Planning: Lead the monthly re-forecasting process to realign sales plans with current market trends and supply chain realities.


4. Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Coordinate with various departments to gather planning inputs and ensure all stakeholders are aligned before hard deadlines.
  • Team Development: Lead and mentor a team of planners, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Strategy Execution: Actively participate in high-level business strategy building and ensure departmental goals ladder up to company objectives.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: 6-10 years in Retail Planning, Demand Planning, or Category Management (preferably in E-commerce or Fashion).
  • Education: MBA or Master’s degree in Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets;
    experience with ERP/Planning software (e.G., SAP, Oracle, or SQL) and BI tools (Tableau/Power BI).
  • Soft Skills: Strong negotiation skills, executive presence, and the ability to simplify complex data for diverse audiences.
