About the Company

A precision engineering component manufacturer supplying small, high-accuracy machined components to global MNCs in the industrial products space. The company operates a highly automated plant with CNC, VMC, automats with robotised operations and is targeting a turnover of about 250 Cr in the next 3 years.
Role Overview
The Head – Procurement and out-sourcing will lead the endtoend procurement function for direct and indirect materials, subcontracting, consumables, and services. The role is responsible for reliable supply, cost optimisation, quality compliance and strategic vendor development to support aggressive growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
• Own and manage the complete procurement cycle for engineering commodities - MS,SS, Special Alloys, Non-ferrous raw materials, boughtout items, subcontracting and plant consumables.
• Own, Manage and control inventory & deliver targets
• Identify sub-contract partners for CNC machining, on-board, develop to deliver outsourcing targets.
• Independently handle and control an annual purchase volume of 75 Cr, ensuring cost, quality and delivery targets are consistently met.
• Lead price negotiation and finalisation for subcontracting, machining, surface treatment and other outsourced operations.
• Develop, evaluate and qualify vendors (local and global) for materials, components, tools, consumables and building a robust and competitive supply base.
• Drive global sourcing initiatives to identify alternative suppliers, new geographies and benchmarking opportunities.
• Implement costreduction and valueengineering initiatives in coordination with production, engineering, quality and finance.
• Ensure adherence to technical specifications, engineering drawings, quality standards and regulatory requirements while procuring.
• Plan and monitor inventories in coordination with production planning to avoid stockouts and excess inventory.
• Use ERP effectively for purchase planning, ordering, tracking, approvals, vendor performance monitoring and data analysis.
• Establish and monitor KPIs such as purchase price variance, ontime delivery, supplier quality, lead time and inventory turns.
• Drive longterm contracts, rate agreements and strategic partnerships with key suppliers.
• Coordinate with stores, accounts and quality teams for GRN, rejection handling, replacements, debit notes and payment terms.
• Continuously scan the market for new technologies, materials, suppliers and costsaving opportunities.

Candidate Profile
• Graduate in Engineering (Mechanical/Production/Industrial or equivalent); MBA in Supply Chain/Operations is an added advantage.
• Around 15 years of experience in procurement/supply chain in engineering/manufacturing, preferably precision machining, automotive or industrial products.
• Proven experience independently handling purchase volumes of around 75 Cr per annum.
• Strong understanding of engineering commodities, machine shop items, raw materials, fabricated parts and subcontracting processes.
• Handson experience in vendor development, supplier audits, performance evaluation and longterm relationship management.
• Expertise in subcontracting price finalisation, cost breakdown analysis and commercial negotiations.
• Exposure to global sourcing, imports, basic INCOTERMS and logistics coordination.
• Wellversed in cost optimisation, value analysis/value engineering and total cost of ownership concepts.
• Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / Microsoft Dynamics / similar) for procurement and inventory control.
• Preferably experienced in procurement of plant and production consumables such as cutting tools, coolants, MRO items and shopfloor supplies.
• Excellent analytical, commercial, negotiation and communication skills.
• High integrity, process orientation and ability to work closely with crossfunctional teams in a fastgrowing manufacturing environment.
