    Job Description

    Reporting to the Chief Project Officer/Business Head, you will:

  • Lead the technical and project delivery aspects of underground coal mines under development.
  • Drive feasibility studies and recommend go/no-go decisions based on geological data.
  • Evaluate and select mining methodologies (Longwall & Continuous) and OEM equipment.
  • Establish and monitor monthly and quarterly project milestones.
  • Oversee mine readiness before handover to operations teams.
  • Ensure automation and technology adoption to minimize human exposure and enhance safety.
  • Develop and coach internal successors over a 3-5 year horizon.
  • Collaborate with global suppliers and local teams to build globally competitive mining operations.

    • The Successful Applicant

  • Holds a Degree in Mining Engineering/Geology; MBA preferred.
  • 15-20 years of underground mining experience, with strong coal mining exposure.
  • Proven expertise in Longwall and Continuous Mining methods.
  • Track record of leading large, complex underground mining projects.
  • Experienced in greenfield mine development, project planning, and execution.
  • Strategic leader with 10+ years in senior project leadership roles.
