Innova Solutions has a client that is immediately hiring for an Application System Engineer


Title:  Application System Engineer

Position type: Full Time – Contract

Duration: 12+ Months

Location: Charlotte NC, Iselin NJ and Dallas TX



About the project

Security and cloud certifications, such as CISSP, CCSP and Azure, GCP, or AWS cloud certifications.

Leading Architecture Risk Reviews and building threat models

Experience Threat Modeling GenAI.

Experience leveraging Threat modeling-as-a-Code (TaaC)

AI adoption is in early stages; 2026 will be a big year for AI integration.

Should have exposure to GenAI (even personal projects) and skills to build AI-driven security solutions.

AI will be used for automation, code review, and efficiency improvements.

Handle at least 50 threat models next year, interacting with 50 application teams across the bank.

Fast-paced environment but no expectation of long work weeks: 8 hours of focused work.

Initially minimal coding (focus on threat modeling).

Integrate APIs, automate processes, and leverage AI.

As an Application System Architect, You would:

Engage and collaborate with application, service, and platform teams to derive a deep, detailed, and accurate description of their application architectures and the services and platforms they consume.

Model the architectures in our threat modeling tool.

Apply our threat modeling methodology to identify and prioritize threats to those applications and to apply mitigating controls.

Review evidence (designs, configurations, and/or source code) of mitigations to threats.

Propose solutions to mitigate threats.

Publish and present threat modeling results.

Collaborate with Cybersecurity Architecture in the creation of new mitigating controls where a sufficient mitigation does not previously exist for a threat.

The ideal candidate will have:

Background in Systems Architecture and/or Systems Development to design and implement solutions.

Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms such as Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Proficiency in Python programming for automation, analysis, and tool development.

Knowledge of at least one Threat Modeling methodology, including STRIDE, PASTA, OCTAVE, LINDDUN, or VAST.

Practical experience using Threat Modeling tools such as Threat Modeler, Microsoft Threat Modeling Tool, or OWASP Threat Dragon.

Strong understanding of security frameworks and principles, including OWASP Top 10, CAPEC, MITRE ATT&CK, and Secure Design best practices.

Manage multiple threat models simultaneously, working with urgency and efficiency to deliver results in short cycle times while maintaining high quality standards.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range: $55/hr to $60/hr

Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
