Health Care Aide

The Health Care Aide is a critical role within our communities as it impacts the lives of residents.

As a Health Care Aide, your typical day will impact in the following ways:

1. Maintains resident records and required documentation in accordance with policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
2. Performs medication assistance and care tasks, including BP monitoring, catheter care, ROM assistance, mobility exercises, medication assistance/administration (eye drops, ointments, inhalers, nebulizers, PRN medication, insulin injections, transdermal patches, suppositories, topical ointments).
3. Monitors resident well-being according to residence policies.
4. Supports with cleaning, laundry, and other resident care duties.
5. Completes all aspects of resident care as per personal service plans.
6. Responds promptly to call bells and door alarms, providing courteous service.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Must haves:

• Minimum 1 year of Retirement and Long-term Care experience.
• At least 2 doses of COVID-19 Vaccines (BC Enhanced Covid Vaccine QR Code).
• Completion of a Care Aide certificate program and/or Medication Certification.
• Current First Aid-CPR/BLS certification and experience with medication assistance.
• Excellent verbal and written English skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid Vulnerable Sector Check within the last 12 months.
• Valid Negative TB Test Report/Chest X-ray within the last 12 months.
