Detailed Overview
Under the general supervision of the Nursing Supervisor, the Health Unit Aide assists Public Health Nurses in a variety of support and service areas such as organizing and setting up immunization clinics; distribution of supplies for needle exchange programs; maintaining and distributing the Unit's biological supply; conducting hearing and vision screening, maintaining and cleaning a variety of supplies and equipment and performs related clerical duties such as charting and collecting data, creates spreadsheets, data entry, word processing, filing and photocopying. Responsibilities Coordinates, organizes and/or conducts hearing and vision screening in various locations; records results of screening and makes referrals as per protocols.
