Heavy Equipment Mechanic - Heavy Civil Diesel / CAT, Deere, Komatsu
(Civil Site Development contractor)

Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience as a heavy equipment diesel mechanic working on heavy civil machinery.
  • Experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining CAT, John Deere, Komatsu, and other large diesel-powered equipment.
  • Capable of performing repairs on dozers, excavators, loaders, skid steers, and other heavy construction equipment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced shop environment.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and consistent — high overtime schedule requires reliability.
  • Must be comfortable working Monday-Saturday with substantial overtime.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with shop leadership and field
    personnel.
  • Ability to stay organized, calm, and focused when handling high repair volume.
  • Valid driver's license required.
Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy civil earthmoving equipment (diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical, undercarriage, etc.).
  • Perform preventive maintenance, safety checks, and equipment inspections.
  • Communicate repair timelines, parts needs, and equipment status to Brandon and the shop team.
  • Work efficiently in a high-volume shop with a full repair bay.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of repairs completed and equipment condition.
  • Support field operations by ensuring equipment is operational and returned quickly.
  • Assist with major tear-downs, engine work, hydraulic systems, and component rebuilds.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by Brandon or leadership.
Location: Tampa, FL (shop-based role) - Riverview, FL (where the shop is)
  • On-site Monday-Saturday
  • Significant overtime available
