  • Inspect the load :Check for sharp edges, splinters, nails, and greasy surfaces.
  • Wear proper PPE :Wear gloves to improve grip, safety toe shoes or boots, and a hard hat with a chin strap.
  • Size up the load :If the load is too big or awkward, divide it up, ask for help, or use a mechanical assist device.
  • Take rest breaks :If the load needs to be carried for a long distance, find places to rest.
  • Keep the load elevated :If possible, keep the load elevated to avoid having to lift it again.
