πŸ“š Position Summary


We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced High School STEM Teacher who will deliver high-quality instruction in both Mathematics and IB Diploma Programme Physics to students in High school. The ideal candidate will create engaging lessons, support academic growth, and foster a stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity and intellectual development.


This role combines core classroom teaching responsibilities with a commitment to student achievement and international-minded instruction, delivered entirely in English.


🧠 Key Responsibilities

Mathematics

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver effective, standards-based math lessons that develop students’ conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills.
  • Use a variety of instructional methods to engage diverse learners.
  • Assess student learning and provide timely, constructive feedback.


IB Physics


  • Design and teach IB Diploma Programme Physics lessons that emphasize conceptual understanding, scientific inquiry, and real-world application.
  • Guide students through the Internal Assessment (IA) process, including experimental design and data analysis.
  • Facilitate safe, meaningful laboratory investigations.


Student Engagement and Support

  • Create a positive, supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
  • Monitor student progress and collaborate with colleagues to support academic and personal development.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff about learning goals and student achievement.


Professional Collaboration

  • Participate in departmental and school-wide meetings and initiatives.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous instructional improvement.
  • Engage in professional growth opportunities to stay current with best practices in STEM education.


Requirements:

πŸŽ“ Qualifications Required


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Education, or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification or credential (cΓ©dula profesional) relevant to secondary education.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in English (oral and written).
  • Experience teaching high school students, preferably in math and/or physics.


Preferred:


  • Experience teaching the IB Diploma Programme (Physics).
  • Strong classroom management and instructional differentiation skills.
  • Commitment to student-centered, inquiry-based learning.
