Summary:
The Materials & Inventory Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and accurate management of materials, spares, consumables, and tools across operations. This position is essential for maintaining optimal stock levels, supporting uninterrupted maintenance and operational activities, and upholding compliance with quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will oversee end-to-end material lifecycle processes, from receipt and storage to issue and reporting, while driving continuous improvement in inventory accuracy, traceability, and cost control. By collaborating closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Procurement teams, this role ensures timely availability of critical supplies, supports audit readiness, and contributes to operational excellence within a high-performance industrial environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the receipt, inspection, storage, and issuance of materials, spares, consumables, and tools.
- Maintain accurate stock registers, GRNs, issue slips, daily logs, and ERP records.
- Enforce FIFO/FEFO principles, ensure material traceability, conduct cycle counts, and support regular stock audits.
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Purchase teams to forecast and plan daily, weekly, and monthly material requirements.
- Monitor incoming shipments against PO specifications, manage unloading procedures, and coordinate internal material movement.
- Ensure full compliance with ISO standards, internal SOPs, and audit requirements through accurate documentation and process adherence.
- Generate MIS reports on inventory status, consumption trends, stock ageing, shortages, and cost control metrics.

Requirements:
- 8–15 years of proven experience in stores, inventory management, or related roles within mining, steel plants, construction, or heavy engineering sectors.
- Proficiency in SAP/ERP systems for inventory and transaction management.
- Demonstrated expertise in FIFO/FEFO, inventory control, warehousing, and material handling best practices.
- Experience managing spare parts, consumables, and equipment components in a high-volume industrial setting.
- Strong communication, coordination, and teamwork abilities with a proactive, detail-oriented mindset.
