Summary:

The Plant Head – Biscuit Manufacturing Plant will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of manufacturing operations at our Jammu-based facility, specializing in chocolate wafers and biscuits. This role is critical to ensuring seamless production, adherence to stringent food safety and quality standards, and continuous operational excellence. The ideal candidate will lead cross-functional teams, drive efficiency and cost optimization, and ensure compliance with FSSAI, GMP, and HACCP regulations. By fostering a culture of continuous improvement, the Plant Head will play a pivotal role in scaling production capacity, minimizing downtime, and delivering high-quality products on time. This position serves as a strategic link between plant operations and corporate leadership, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and performance metrics.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end manufacturing operations, including production, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and EHS
  • Ensure consistent, high-volume production of chocolate wafers and biscuits while maintaining strict quality and safety standards
  • Implement and monitor food safety protocols, hygiene practices, and statutory compliance (FSSAI, GMP, HACCP)
  • Drive productivity enhancements, cost optimization, and continuous process improvement initiatives
  • Manage plant budgeting, capacity planning, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing, cross-functional team across operational functions
  • Minimize equipment downtime and ensure optimal utilization of production assets
  • Coordinate with corporate teams for strategic planning, reporting, and execution of key initiatives


Requirements

Requirements:
  • 14+ years of progressive experience in the biscuit and chocolate wafer manufacturing industry
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale manufacturing operations with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency
  • In-depth knowledge of FSSAI, GMP, HACCP, and other food safety and regulatory standards
  • Strong leadership and team development skills with experience in mentoring operational teams
  • Expertise in budget management, capacity planning, and operational cost control
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and implement lean manufacturing principles
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Willingness to work in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment with a focus on results
