Summary:
The Store Head plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless material flow and inventory accuracy within our manufacturing plant, supporting the production of high-quality FMCG food products across India. This position is critical to maintaining operational efficiency, minimizing downtime, and upholding strict quality and compliance standards. The Store Head oversees the end-to-end management of Engineering Stores and Finished Goods, driving inventory optimization, accurate reporting, and effective coordination across departments. With a strong focus on process discipline, traceability, and continuous improvement, this role ensures that materials are available when needed, while maintaining compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the timely and accurate issuance of materials from stores to plant operations, including Engineering, Raw Materials (RM), Packaging Materials (PM), and Finished Goods.
Generate daily stock reports for RM, PM, and Engineering inventory, identifying critical items and potential shortages.
Ensure proper receipt and quality verification of incoming materials, coordinating Material Inspection Report (MIR) clearance with the Quality team.
Maintain precise material records using ERP systems and Excel, ensuring real-time accuracy in inventory booking.
Monitor inventory Management Information System (MIS) metrics such as FIFO/LIFO compliance, shelf life tracking, aging analysis, write-offs, and stock movement trends.
Proactively plan and ensure the availability of engineering spares to support uninterrupted plant operations.
Manage batch coding, product traceability, reconciliation of gate entries against GRNs, and conduct monthly physical stock audits.
Optimize material handling practices, space utilization, and asset tagging within store facilities.
Lead procurement activities for engineering spares and effectively manage store team performance and deployment.
Requirements
Requirements:Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Store or Inventory Management within a manufacturing environment.
Proven expertise in managing Engineering Stores, Raw Materials (RM), Packaging Materials (PM), and Finished Goods.
Demonstrated experience in inventory control, audit execution, and generation of MIS reports.
Proficient in ERP/SAP systems and advanced Excel functions for data analysis and reporting.
Strong leadership, organizational, and cross-functional coordination skills with a proven ability to manage plant-level operations.
