Exciting Opportunity Alert! HTC Global Services is hiring Horizon VDI Engineer - Immediate joiners for our premium project at Chennai & Hyderabad.

Location: Chennai/Hyderabad
Mode: 5 days work from office (NO HYBRID)
Shift: 24*7 Rotational
The Horizon VDI Administrator will manage VMware Horizon environments, desktop images, user sessions, and performance while also handling enterprise backup or monitoring operations. The role is responsible for ensuring a secure, reliable, and highly available VDI platform with strong data protection capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
VDI Administration
- Deploy, configure, and manage VMware Horizon environments (pools, farms, UAGs).
- Create and maintain golden images, snapshots, and application delivery configurations.
- Troubleshoot VDI issues such as login failures, profile corruption, connectivity, and performance.
- Monitor Horizon performance, user experience, and session stability.
- Upgrade and patch VDI components (Horizon, agents, connection servers).
Backup Administration (or Monitoring – based on candidate)
- Manage backup systems supporting VDI infrastructure (Cohesity/Commvault/Avamar).
- Monitor backup jobs, validate recovery, and troubleshoot failures.
- Perform storage and capacity planning for VDI-related file shares and datastores.
- Administer SAN/NAS arrays and cloud storage for user profiles and VDI workloads.
Monitoring Operations
- Configure monitoring alerts and dashboards using AppDynamics, Splunk, or server monitoring tools.
- Track system health, login times, session metrics, and performance thresholds.
- Generate reports for usage, capacity, incidents, and service health.
System & Security
- Install, harden, and maintain Windows servers used in VDI (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO).
- Ensure compliance with security standards for virtual desktops.
- Implement DR processes and support testing of recovery procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT / Computer Science (preferred).
- 6+ years of experience in VDI administration (Horizon preferred).
- Strong knowledge of VMware Horizon, Windows server imaging, GPO, and profile management tools.
- Experience with backup tools (Cohesity / Commvault / Avamar) or monitoring tools (AppDynamics / Splunk).
- Familiarity with storage platforms (NetApp, Qumulo, SAN/NAS) and VMware vSphere.
- Scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash) for automation.
Preferred Certifications
- VMware VCP-DT or VCP-DCV
- Backup/Storage certifications (Cohesity, Commvault, etc.)
- ITIL Foundation
Soft Skills
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Proactive and detail-oriented
- Ability to manage multiple issues under pressure
