Horizontal Drill Operator

Job Description
The HDD Operator supports underground telecommunications construction by safely and efficiently operating horizontal directional drilling equipment to install conduit, fiber, and related infrastructure. This role requires strong technical skill, situational awareness, and the ability to work in fast‑paced field environments across varying terrain.

Operate HDD equipment (e.g., Ditch Witch, Vermeer, American Auger) to complete bores per engineered specifications.
Interpret bore profiles, HDD submittals, work orders, and calculations to execute accurate drill paths.
Utilize walk‑over locating systems (TK, DCI, Magnetics) to guide drilling operations.
Perform job site setup, including rig positioning, safety checks, and participation in Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
Operate support equipment such as backhoes, excavators, skid steers, vacuum trucks, and crane trucks.
