Summary:





The Hostess is responsible for
greeting and welcoming guests to the restaurant or establishment, managing
reservations, and ensuring a smooth and positive dining experience. They are
the first point of contact for customers and play a key role in creating a
welcoming atmosphere.





Key
Responsibilities:






  • Greeting Guests:


  • Warmly greet customers as they arrive and thank them
    as they leave.

  • Guide guests to their tables and provide them with
    menus.


  • Reservation Management:


  • Handle reservations and maintain an updated
    reservation system.

  • Manage walk-ins and ensure seating arrangements are
    timely and organized.


  • Customer Service:


  • Ensure customers are satisfied with seating
    arrangements and assist with any special requests.

  • Communicate guest preferences and requests to
    waitstaff or management.


  • Maintaining Waitlists:


  • If the restaurant is full, maintain a waitlist and
    ensure guests are informed about expected wait times.


  • Coordination with Staff:


  • Work closely with the kitchen, servers, and management
    to ensure smooth operation.

  • Communicate special requests or issues to the
    appropriate team members.


  • Maintaining Cleanliness:


  • Ensure the entryway, dining area, and restrooms are
    clean and presentable.

  • Assist in clearing tables when necessary.


  • Providing Information:


  • Answer phone calls and provide information about the
    restaurant's menu, hours, and services.


  • Handling Complaints or Issues:


  • Address guest concerns or complaints promptly and
    professionally, escalating to management when necessary.


  • Assisting with Special Events:


  • Help with the preparation and management of special
    events or parties, including seating arrangements and guest services.










  • Skills:






  • Customer Service:
    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on guest
    satisfaction.

  • Multitasking:
    Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, such as greeting guests
    and managing reservations.

  • Organizational Skills: Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace,
    including managing guest waitlists and reservations.

  • Professionalism:
    Friendly, approachable demeanor with the ability to maintain composure in
    busy or challenging situations.
