Job Responsibilities

  1. Provide a warm and friendly welcome, leading guests and seating them at their table.
  2. Take telephone bookings and maintain a clear and organised reservations book.
  3. Assist in the set-up of tables and displays.
  4. Maintain and update guest database.
  5. Be attentive to guests and resolve their complaints where possible, reporting all incidents to Supervisor.
  6. Maintain cleanliness of hostess station and surrounding areas, as well as of all menus.
  7. Maintain good working relationship with own colleagues, and all other departments.
  8. Correct preparation of all necessary operational material in the back office.
  9. Learn safety, sanitation and hygiene policies.
  10. Present check to guests and perform cashiering function if needed.
  11. Effectively control guest flow in the restaurant ensuring maximum turnover.
