Contract and Compliance Coordinator

Located in the North Thompson valley, at Simpcw Resources Group we provide environmental, management, and operational services while preserving Simpcw culture and heritage with respect towards the environment. Our goals include creating economic growth from the commercial development of natural resources within the Simpcw'ulécw (Simpcw Territory) by being the major contractor and competing for work in both the public and private sectors.

Job Summary

Reporting to the HSE Manager, the HSE Contract and Compliance Coordinator is responsible for various is responsible for supporting the contract lifecycle process and ensuring organizational compliance with internal policies, legal requirements, and contractual obligations. This role works closely with legal, finance, and operational teams to maintain accurate contract records, monitor company compliance standards, to assist in risk mitigation.

Responsibilities

  • Ongoing contractor management and compliance for subcontractors, including band entrepreneurs and independent service providers, joint ventures, and partners.
  • Drafting, reviewing, editing, and amending contracts, and agreements.
  • Assisting in project setup, compliance, workflow and closeout compliance.
  • Review of contractors HSE programs and procedures, to ensure compliance standards.
  • Ensure internal workflow and approvals with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the legal, finance, and operations teams to streamline processes.
  • Assist in implementing policies, and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Five (5) or more years’ experience in a similar administrative role, preferably in pipeline, forestry, environmental, civil construction or related industry.
  • Intermediate user level in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word, with demonstrated experience in managing spreadsheets and building documents.
  • Collaborates, coordinates, and communicates with others effectively.
  • Knowledgeable in documentation creation and standardization.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Contract knowledge or experience considered an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of EHS Management Systems.
  • Accuracy and a high level of attention to detail and responsiveness.
  • Willingness to learn new information and take on new tasks.
  • Experience working with First Nations people is valued.
  • Knowledge of the Simpcw First Nations community is valued.
