Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to site management on Health, Safety and Environment systems and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with Eastern Guruma’s accredited ISO Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
  • Deliver HSET training in accordance with company systems and legislative requirements, while providing coaching and mentoring to staff as needed.
  • Ensure alignment between client and company HSET systems.
  • Report updates and variations to the HSET Manager and Quality & Audit Manager. Report and document all incidents, hazards, near misses and safety events.
  • Communicate regularly with Project Managers, Site Supervisors and team members across all sites.
  • Participate in critical site meetings including start-ups, toolbox talks and HSET briefings. Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate training and assessment records.
  • Compile a range of HSET reports including safety audits, environmental compliance reports, training reports, and performance metrics.
  • Manage version control of HSET-related documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legislation.
  • Support the delivery of HSE project plans and participate in internal and external audits.
  • Contribute to the development and review of HSET policies, procedures and risk assessments.

Required Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree, diploma or certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety 
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive Health & Safety experience within mining or civil earthworks projects.
  • Completed Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (at least 40116)
  • Completed Incident Investigation qualification (ICAM) qualification 
  • Current WA manual driver's licence.
  • In-depth knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation and industry regulations.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement safety policies and procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to assess risk.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite.
  •  Must be Australian/NZ Citizen or Permanent resident
