Job Description: Hookup and Commissioning (HUC) Engineer

Lead and execute the hookup and commissioning activities, ensuring safe, timely, and compliant integration of systems and equipment in line with project specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Hookup Activities:

  • Develop and implement detailed hookup plans and workpacks.
  • Supervise physical connections of equipment, skids, modules, and vendor packages.
  • Ensure alignment with structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
  • Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to resolve design and interface issues.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE standards and project-specific method statements.

    • Commissioning Activities:

  • Prepare and execute Commissioning Execution Plans (CEP), System Breakdown Structures (SBS), and RACI matrices.
  • Lead Mechanical Completion (MC) to commissioning handover, including punch list management and readiness gates.
  • Conduct pre-commissioning checks: flushing, cleaning, lubrication, alignment, and torque verification.
  • Perform system energization and functional testing across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Commission safety systems including ESD, Fire & Gas, deluge, and lifesaving systems.
  • Validate automation systems: PLC/DCS I/O, interlocks, VFD tuning, and network redundancy.
  • Oversee rotating equipment run-ins and power generation/distribution tests.
