Job Purpose
The Assistant Manager – HR (HRBP) will support the Costa Coffee business across the South and West regions, based out of Bangalore. This role will manage end-to-end HR activities for assigned stores, including workforce planning, bulk and lateral hiring, employee relations, engagement initiatives, statutory compliance, and close partnership with operations teams to support business goals and ensure smooth restaurant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the HR Business Partner for assigned Costa Coffee stores across South & West regions.
- Lead manpower planning and end-to-end bulk hiring.
- Partner closely with Operations and Stores Leadership to forecast manpower needs and ensure timely hiring closures
- Ensure seamless onboarding, documentation, and joining formalities across stores locations
- Manage the entire employee lifecycle including confirmations, transfers, promotions, exits, and attrition control initiatives
- Drive employee engagement programs and support performance management and appraisal processes
- Handle employee relations, grievance redressal, disciplinary actions, and adherence to company policies
- Ensure statutory and labour law compliance applicable to QSR operations
- Review and analyze HR MIS, dashboards, and reports related to hiring, headcount, and attrition; provide actionable insights to business leaders
- Coordinate with payroll, training, L&D, and corporate HR teams to ensure smooth, compliant, and timely HR operations
- Support change management and people initiatives aligned with regional priorities and Costa Coffee business objectives
Key Requirements
- 7-9 years of progressive HR experience with strong HRBP exposure
- Mandatory experience in the QSR industry
- Proven expertise in bulk hiring, frontline workforce management, and multi-unit operations
- Hands-on experience in HR operations, employee relations, and statutory compliance
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume, geographically dispersed retail environment
- Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
- Knowledge of local languages is mandatory, as the role will handle South and West markets
- Hands-on experience in a similar HRBP role within QSR/retail setup will be strongly preferred
- Role to be based out of Bangalore, with regional travel as required
