As we scale our growth, we are looking for a strategic yet hands-on HR Director to build our people infrastructure and drive our culture of "Make It Happen."
About the Role
We are seeking an HR Director who thrives in a high-growth DeepTech environment. This role is not just about policy; it is about operational excellence and cultural stewardship. You will own the entire employee lifecycle—from aggressive hiring for niche tech roles to building a compliant, efficient HR machine that supports our expansion. You will serve as a bridge between leadership and the team, ensuring our values ("Make it Together," "Make it Better") are lived daily.
Responsibilities
- High-Velocity HR Operations
- Infrastructure & Systems: overhaul and manage HRIS, payroll, and benefits administration to ensure error-free execution as headcount grows.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure 100% compliance with Indian labor laws and statutory requirements (PF, ESIC, Gratuity, etc.); manage HR audits and vendor relationships.
- Process Optimization: transform ad-hoc startup processes into scalable, documented SOPs for onboarding, offboarding, and performance management.
- Strategic Talent Acquisition
- DeepTech Hiring: Lead the recruitment strategy for hard-to-fill roles in Speech AI, LLM, Forward Deployable Engineers and Enterprise Sales; partner with engineering leaders to close candidates in a competitive market.
- Employer Branding: Position Gnani.ai as a top destination for AI talent; manage campus relations and external partnerships.
- Pipeline Management: Implement data-driven hiring metrics (Time-to-Fill, Quality of Hire) to optimize the recruitment funnel.
- Culture Building & Organizational Development
- Values Integration: Embed Gnani.ai’s core values (Customer-Driven, Urgency, Constant Improvement) into performance reviews, rewards, and daily rituals.
- Learning & Development: Design mentorship programs and continuous learning pathways to retain top engineering and sales talent.
- Change Management: Guide the organization through structural changes and growth phases while maintaining high morale and transparency.
- Employee Relations & Engagement
- Voice of the Employee: Act as a trusted confidante and mediator for staff; proactively address grievances and foster an open-door environment.
- Engagement Initiatives: Organize town halls, hackathons, and wellness programs that connect remote/hybrid teams and reinforce a "One Team" mindset.
- Retention Strategy: Analyze attrition data to implement proactive retention measures, focusing on high-impact performers.
Qualifications
- Experience: 10-12+ years of HR experience, with at least 4 years in a leadership role within a B2B SaaS, AI, or DeepTech startup.
- Ops Mastery: Proven track record of setting up HR operations from scratch or scaling them during a Series A/B growth phase.
- Education: MBA in HR or equivalent specialized degree.
Required Skills
- Strong command of Indian labor laws and statutory compliance.
- Ability to balance strategic planning with tactical execution ("roll-up-your-sleeves" attitude).
- High emotional intelligence and capability to influence senior stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in a high-growth DeepTech environment.
- Proven ability to drive cultural change and employee engagement.
Pay range and compensation package
40-45 LPA (Fixed Component)
