Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out detailed transient analyses of hydropower and pumped storage systems
- Develop and calibrate dynamic models incorporating penstocks, surge tanks, turbines, and generators
- Simulate water hammer, load rejection/load acceptance, and start-up/shutdown events
- Analyse electromechanical interactions across the full system
- Prepare technical documentation and support risk-based design decisions
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate modelling into wider design strategy
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred with a fluid systems or hydro focus)
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in hydroelectric systems modelling, including transient analysis
- Proficiency in SIMSEN is essential; familiarity with alternative platforms (e.g. AMESim, MATLAB/Simulink, Modelica) is beneficia...
