The Hydrovac Swamper will work as part of a crew responsible for going into residential and commercial areas working on underground utilities and working with their crew to complete tasks for the day.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the successful completion of hydro excavation projects including utility line exposure, debris removal, slot trenching, and diggingSupervise activities of Hydrovac Swamper in order to ensure employee skill developmentSet up and inspect grounding and/or bonding procedures for Hydrovac operationComplete all required paperwork properly and within set timelinesPerform pre and post-trip inspections, as well as routine maintenancePerforming Required Daily Vacuum Excavation Tasks:Potholing Existing Underground Utilities for HDD WorkPole Holes, Anchors, and Trench Work for Company DivisionsExposing Existing Underground Utilities for New Placement and Maintenance Work Success Factors:
Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions.Ability to lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a work shiftAbility to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneelingAbility to understand and follow specific oral and written instructionAbility to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-worker Ability to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policyEnglish usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reportsKnowledge of basic underground utilitiesSkills in operating heavy equipment and machines proficiently and safelyAbility to use time and equipment efficiently to complete projects on timeAbility to communicate effectively in a team environmentMechanical aptitude Mapping and Print Reading Ability to work in confined spaces Minimum of 1 year of related experience or training Mechanical ability; and knowledge of equipment and heavy vehicle operation, maintenance, and repairWillingness and ability to learn additional skills Experience and Education:
1-2 years of Manual Laboring Experience preferredStandard Driver License RequiredAn equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-to-year basis Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver’s License is required within two weeks of employment.Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen. Notes:
