Role Overview & What We Look For

As an I-Software Test Senior Engineer , you will play a critical role in the software development lifecycle by leading and executing testing activities , defining test strategies, and ensuring high-quality software delivery.

You will work closely with developers, product owners, and stakeholders in an Agile/Scrum environment, contribute to automation initiatives, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring on-time and high-quality releases.

Hands-on software development exposure is a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Test Strategy & Planning: Define and implement test strategies, test plans, and test cases based on functional and technical requirements.
• Test Execution: Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing to ensure product quality and reliability.
• Test Automation: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks to improve efficiency and coverage.
• Performance Testing: Conduct load and performance testing to evaluate scalability and response times; identify bottlenecks and recommend optimizations.
• Test Environment Management: Set up and maintain stable test environments aligned closely with production systems.
• Defect Management & Reporting: Identify, track, and report defects; communicate test status, risks, and quality metrics to leadership.
• Agile Collaboration: Actively participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Leadership & Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior test engineers and promote best practices.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive improvements in testing processes, tools, and automation frameworks.

Core Competencies

• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, standards, and best practices
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools (Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Appium or similar)
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
• Familiarity with version control and issue tracking tools (Git, JIRA)
• Exposure to performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner – plus)
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and global teams
• ISTQB or equivalent certification is advantageous but not mandatory
