The IB-PYP Assistant Teacher will support the Homeroom Teacher in delivering the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) through inquiry-based, child-centred learning. The role focuses on classroom support, student engagement, observation, documentation, and wellbeing, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment aligned with IB philosophy. Key Responsibilities 1. Classroom & Learning Support Support the Homeroom Teacher in implementing PYP Units of Inquiry Assist in planning and facilitating inquiry-based and transdisciplinary learning activities Support differentiated instruction to meet diverse learner needs Help manage learning centers, materials, and classroom organization 2. Student Engagement & Well-Being Support students academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development Foster a safe, caring, and inclusive classroom environment Supervise students during class activities, transitions, and school routines Support positive behavior and learner profile development 3. Observation, Assessment & Documentation Observe students and assist in documenting learning through: Anecdotal records Learning evidence Portfolios and displays Support formative assessment practices as guided by the Homeroom Teacher Assist in maintaining accurate student records 4. Collaboration & Professional Support Work collaboratively with: Homeroom Teachers PYP Coordinators Specialist teachers and support staff Participate in grade-level meetings, planning sessions, and school events Support classroom preparations for exhibitions, assemblies, and school activities 5. Parent Communication Support Assist teachers during parent interactions, meetings, and events Support preparation of classroom communication, displays, and student work 6. Safeguarding & Compliance Follow all school safeguarding, child protection, and POCSO guidelines Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct always Adhere to school policies, IB standards, and code of conduct Requirements Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in Education / Early Childhood Education / Primary Education D.Ed / B.Ed / B.El.Ed / E.C.C.Ed / N.T.T certification preferred IB PYP training or exposure is an advantage Experience 25 years of experience in a primary or early years classroom Experience in IB / international / progressive schools preferred Freshers with strong early-years training may also be considered Employment Commitment Requirement This is a full-time, on-campus role requiring complete professional commitment. Concurrent employment, freelance work, or private tuition during the academic year is not permitted Pursuing any regular academic programme (full-time or part-time) that interferes with school responsibilities is not permissible Candidates must be able to fully dedicate their time and professional focus to the school and students.
