Job Description
The IB-PYP Telugu Teacher will deliver age-appropriate Telugu language instruction aligned with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), fostering language development, cultural appreciation, and communication skills through inquiry-based, child-centred learning. The role supports transdisciplinary learning while nurturing students linguistic confidence and cultural identity. Key Responsibilities 1. Teaching & Learning (PYP-Aligned) Plan and deliver inquiry-based Telugu lessons aligned with PYP philosophy. Develop listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills appropriate to primary learners. Integrate Telugu language learning into Units of Inquiry where relevant. Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning needs and language levels. 2. Curriculum & Language Development Design engaging activities to build vocabulary, phonics, comprehension, and expression. Promote appreciation of Telugu culture, literature, and traditions. Encourage meaningful communication through stories, songs, role-play, and creative tasks. 3. Assessment & Documentation Use formative assessment strategies aligned with PYP practices. Document learning evidence through anecdotal records, portfolios, and displays. Provide constructive feedback to support student growth. 4. Collaboration & School Engagement Collaborate with homeroom teachers, PYP coordinator, and specialists for transdisciplinary learning. Participate in planning meetings, school events, assemblies, and exhibitions. Support classroom and school initiatives related to language and culture. Requirements Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in Telugu B.Ed / D.Ed preferred IB-PYP training or exposure is an added advantage Eligibility & Experience Requirements Minimum 5 years of total teaching experience Compulsory Minimum 2 years of Primary classes Telugu teaching experience Preferred Positions are open for experienced candidates only. Freshers need not apply Desired Skills & Competencies Strong understanding of IB PYP philosophy and practices Excellent communication and classroom management skills Passion for holistic and experiential learning Ability to work collaboratively in an international school environment Commitment to continuous professional growth Employment Commitment Requirement This is a full-time, on-campus role requiring complete professional commitment.
