IBM Guardium Subject Matter Expert (SME) would be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Guardium solutions to protect sensitive data across various environments, including databases, data warehouses, and cloud platforms, ensuring compliance and minimizing risks.


Responsibilities

Data Protection Expertise:

  • Deep understanding of IBM Guardium's capabilities, including data activity monitoring, data discovery and classification, and policy enforcement.
  • Experience with various database platforms (e.g., Db2, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) and data environments (e.g., data warehouses, big data platforms, cloud environments).
  • Ability to design and implement Guardium solutions to address specific data protection and compliance requirements.

Security and Compliance:

  • Knowledge of data security best practices and industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS).
  • Ability to identify and mitigate data security risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Experience with data loss prevention (DLP) and data security posture management (DSPM) solutions.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of database technologies and security concepts.
  • Experience with Guardium's features, including S-TAP, Discover and Classify, and Data Compliance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve Guardium-related issues.

Design and Implementation:

  • Designing Guardium solutions to meet specific data protection and compliance requirements.
  • Implementing and configuring Guardium agents and appliances.
  • Developing and deploying Guardium policies and rules.

Monitoring and Analysis:

  • Monitoring Guardium activity and identifying potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Analyzing Guardium data to identify trends and patterns.
  • Reporting on data security risks and compliance status.

Troubleshooting and Support:

  • Troubleshooting and resolving Guardium-related issues.
  • Providing technical support to users of Guardium.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest Guardium features and best practices.

Compliance:

  • Assisting with data compliance audits and assessments.
  • Ensuring that Guardium solutions meet compliance requirements.


Requirements

  • Overall 8+ years of IT experience.
  • Minimum 6+ years of experience with Guardium tool
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with stakeholders, including technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Ability to document and present technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Experience working in a team environment and collaborating with other security professionals.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest compliance regulations.


Requirements
Required Skills & Experience: • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Active Directory (installation, multi-forest/domain management, GPO, DNS/DHCP, Trust, AD replication). • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), especially password protection features and custom banned password lists. • Experiences in monitoring, analytics tools like SCOM, Zabbix, Splunk, Azure log analytics, ELK etc. • Advanced PowerShell scripting skills for automation and reporting. • Experience with regulatory compliance projects (e.g., HKMA C-RAF, SOX, GDPR) is a plus. • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. • 10-15 years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in AD/Entra ID environments. Preferred Certifications: • Microsoft Certified for AD and Entra ID. Education level: Degree or equivalent in engineering/ IT field
