Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced IBM WebSphere MQ Developer to design, develop, and maintain messaging solutions for enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in IBM MQ, integration patterns, and middleware technologies, ensuring secure and reliable message delivery across distributed systems.

Must-Have Skills

  • Hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere MQ (installation, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting).
  • Strong understanding of messaging concepts , including queues, topics, channels, and message persistence.
  • Experience in developing and managing MQ objects (Queue Managers, Queues, Channels, Listeners).
  • Proficiency in Java/J2EE or .NET for MQ integration.
  • Knowledge of MQ security , SSL/TLS configuration, and authentication mechanisms.
  • Experience with MQ clustering, high availability, and failover configurations .
  • Ability to monitor and tune MQ performance using tools like MQ Explorer or command-line utilities.
  • Familiarity with integration patterns and middleware architecture .
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Good-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with IBM Integration Bus (IIB) or App Connect Enterprise (ACE) .
  • Knowledge of cloud-based MQ solutions (AWS MQ, Azure Service Bus).
  • Exposure to DevOps tools for MQ deployment and automation.
  • Understanding of Kafka or other messaging platforms for hybrid integration.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement messaging solutions using IBM WebSphere MQ.
  • Configure and maintain Queue Managers, Queues, Channels, and Security settings .
  • Develop and support integration components for enterprise applications.
  • Monitor MQ environments and ensure high availability and performance tuning .
  • Troubleshoot MQ-related issues and provide timely resolutions.
  • Collaborate with application teams to integrate MQ into business workflows.
  • Document MQ configurations, processes, and best practices.
  • Support MQ upgrades, patches, and migration projects.
