Job Description

Disaster Response Team

Mother Nature is unpredictable. Good thing you're not.

When disaster hits, organization and management behind the scenes is essential to an effective field operations mission.

Behind every effective disaster response is a calm, organized, and highly skilled command structure. If you are ICS-trained, thrive in complex operations, and can bring order to chaos under pressure, we want you on our team.

The Capacity Path Disaster Response Cadre is staffing our ICS-trained Command & General Staff roster for the 2026 disaster season. We are seeking experienced emergency management and incident command professionals to support Logistics, Finance/Admin, Planning, and Task Force Leadership functions during paid disaster deployments across Florida and beyond.

This is not desk work. This is field-based, high-impact leadership—supporting mental health, wellness, and crisis care operations in real-time, often in austere and rapidly evolving environments. Our Command Cadre works shoulder-to-shoulder with the Field teams of Mental Health Counselors, doing the administrative parts that make the magic happen. Working with other response organizations, local partners, and emergency management agencies to ensure operations run smoothly, ethically, and effectively.

Think of it like being a reservist: we hope you’re not needed—but when you are, your experience makes all the difference.

We are seeking qualified candidates for the following ICS Command & General Staff roles / responsibilities:

  • Logistics Manager & Support
  • Finance / Administration Manager & Support
  • Planning Manager & Support
  • Documentation Manager (Canva skills required)
  • Timekeeping, Cost Tracking, and Procurement Support
  • Public Information & Internal Communications Support
  • Inventory Tracking & Credentialing Support
  • Assistant Task Force Leaders / Deputy Task Force Leaders

All Command positions support the Capacity Path Disaster Response Cadre of Mental Health and Wellness Professionals for resilience-focused disaster operations.

Our Mission? Capacity Path delivers real relief and real resilience on the frontlines—supporting survivors, responders, and communities through neurobiologically informed crisis care, wellness, and operational excellence.

Our Command Cadre ensures that our Crisis Care field teams can do their work safely, sustainably, and in alignment with ICS/NIMS standards while adapting to the realities of disaster environments.

Requirements

Note: This is not a remote position. All Command Cadre members must be able and willing to deploy onsite to disaster-affected areas when activated.

We are recruiting professionals nationwide to join our 2026 roster.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Formal ICS/NIMS training (ICS-100/200/700 required; 300/400 strongly preferred)
  • Experience serving in administrative leadership and/or project management
  • Experience in disaster response, emergency management, public safety, public health, or large-scale operations
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and decision-making skills
  • The ability to remain calm, flexible, and effective in high-stress environments
  • A collaborative working style and respect for multidisciplinary teams
  • Technology skills to adapt to the various programs and softwares that support our field operations
  • A quick learner in real time

Minimum requirements:

  • Relevant experience in administration, incident management or emergency operations
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Willingness to deploy on short notice
  • Strong reliability, punctuality, and adaptability

All positions are temporary, on-call roles for the 2026 response season. Deployments may range from 5 days to several months, depending on the incident and your availability. Evening and weekend work may be required.

During the interview process, we will clearly explain how deployments work and how they can integrate with your existing employment or obligations.

Benefits

We know this work may not be your primary job—but when disaster strikes, it may be some of the most meaningful leadership you'll ever provide.

  • Very competitive daily stipend: $350–$550+/day (based on role, qualifications, and experience)
  • Travel & Per diem reimbursement (for deployments over 50 miles from home)
  • Lodging & onsite transportation provided
  • Field-based training and operational support
  • No obligation to deploy when availability is requested (reservist-style roster)
  • Opportunity to support mission-driven, human-centered disaster response

This role is ideal for experienced professionals who:

  • Are confident operating within ICS structure
  • Understand the realities of disaster environments
  • Value both operational excellence and human-centered response
  • Feel called to lead when it matters most

If you’re ready to bring your command experience to a mission that blends structure, compassion, and impact—we’d be honored to work with you.
