Oaklands Global is currently recruiting an IFE Engineer on behalf of one of our leading aviation clients in the Middle East. This flying role supports a high-profile operation and requires a candidate who is resourceful, resilient, effective in communication, and able to exercise a high level of discretion in challenging situations. The position includes day-to-day responsibilities, with the expectation to gain comprehensive familiarity with the fleet’s IFE systems, reporting directly to the Base Maintenance Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the serviceability and readiness of IFE carry-on devices by ensuring they are up to date, working efficiently and have active subscriptions.
  • Support the Engineering Department with the maintenance and troubleshooting of IFE/CMS systems.
  • Deliver technical assistance for defect investigations and operational issues.
  • Manage and update software, firmware, and hardware configuration records for IFE/CMS equipment across the fleet.
  • Contribute to the development of operational procedures for equipment not covered in the Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM).
  • Coordinate and carry out regular content updates.
  • Support and facilitate training initiatives, such as OJT sessions and structured refresher courses.
  • Work closely with the Corporate Planning Department on system upgrades, technology refresh planning, and the integration of new IFE/CMS technologies.
  • Provide backup support for flying IFE engineers during operational flights when required.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and implementation of new technologies, system modifications, and enhancements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the direct supervisor to support objectives.
  • Requirements

  • Ideally, the successful candidate will hold a B2 License, although applications from unlicensed engineers will also be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance, including at least 3 years specialising in IFE/CMS systems.
  • Strong experience in maintaining and troubleshooting IFE/CMS systems.
  • Proficient in managing and documenting software, firmware, and hardware for IFE/CMS equipment.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance for aircraft entertainment systems.
