We are looking for a computational imaging specialist to join Tethis’ team. A hybrid role that combines computational skills with hands-on experience in imaging to support advanced workflows in biological imaging and data analysis. The computational imaging specialist will work at the intersection of programming, data analysis, and practical imaging, helping to bring together computational and experimental approaches.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain Python-based tools for image data processing, analysis, and visualization. Build, test, and optimize AI/ML algorithms for advanced image analysis workflows. Perform hands-on operation and maintenance of fluorescence and brightfield microscopes. Troubleshoot and debug computational workflows, ensuring seamless integration between imaging data and algorithms. Conduct exploratory data analysis to ensure data quality and readiness for downstream computational processes. Assist with slide preparation and imaging workflows, ensuring high-quality data acquisition. Perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance of imaging equipment.
Ideal Candidate Profile: Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Bioinformatics, or a related technical discipline. A background in biology or cell biology is a strong plus. Experience: Prior work experience in a cell biology or microscopy lab is highly desirable. Interdisciplinary Skills: Familiarity with imaging workflows, troubleshooting imaging equipment, and integrating experimental data into computational models.
Required Skills: Programming Expertise: Proficient in Python, including libraries for data manipulation (e.g., pandas, NumPy), visualization (e.g., matplotlib, seaborn), and AI/ML frameworks and ecosystems (e.g., PyTorch, Hugging Face). Imaging Knowledge: Hands-on experience with microscopy techniques, including fluorescence imaging and slide preparation. AI/ML Familiarity: Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts and their applications in image analysis. Data Management: Familiarity with SQL databases, data pipelines, and handling large datasets. Analytical Thinking: Ability to preprocess and analyze data to support algorithm development and experimental goals. Version Control: Knowledge of Git for collaborative coding and project management.
