Global Trade Analyst

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administering the efficient and economical movement of goods across international borders in accordance with organizational policies and in compliance with relevant local, country, and international customs laws and processes.
  • Preparing, reviewing, approving, and maintaining files for import/export documents such as customs declarations, purchase orders, packing lists, commercial invoices, shipper's letters of instruction, export declarations, bills of lading, air waybills, import certificates, and others necessary for lawful import/export activities.
  • Ensuring that commercial and sales invoices are accurate and aligned with physical shipments, customer’s SLI, quantities, values, origin countries, and regulatory requirements.
  • Serving as an import/export liaison for international customers, subsidiaries, distribution, procurement, planning, manufacturing, intercompany finance, and compliance functions.
  • Determining global trade data attributes of new and transferred Stryker products in accordance with global trade policies.
  • Driving key stakeholders to obtain relevant product information supporting data attribute determination by requested deadlines.
  • Communicating with legal counsel internally and externally to seek guidance and interpret relevant product information for global trade data attribute decisions.
  • Executing specific practices to support the accurate determination of trade data attributes based on US Trade Agreements Act requirements for products sold to the US government.
  • Documenting the rationale and evidence supporting trade data attribute determinations for record keeping and compliance purposes.
  • Managing the quality of global trade data attributes in data repositories and related systems.
  • Proactively seeking continual improvements within the program by enhancing processes, forms, databases, and data quality.
  • Working independently and exercising professional judgment to apply expertise effectively in this individual contributor role.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Business or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in managing the efficient and compliant movement of goods across international borders, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and relevant customs laws and processes.
  • Skilled in preparing, reviewing, approving, and maintaining import/export documentation such as customs declarations, purchase orders, packing lists, commercial invoices, shipper’s letters of instruction, export declarations, bills of lading, air waybills, import certificates, and other relevant documents required for lawful trade activities.
  • Ability to ensure accuracy of commercial and sales invoices, verifying alignment with physical shipments, customer’s SLI, quantities, values, origin countries, and regulatory standards.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as an effective liaison for import/export functions across global teams, including customers, subsidiaries, distribution, procurement, planning, manufacturing, finance, and compliance departments.
  • Competence in determining global trade data attributes for new and transferred products in line with company policies and trade regulations.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to drive teams to obtain critical product information within strict deadlines.
  • Effective communicator with experience working with legal counsel to interpret and clarify trade-related information, supporting trade data decisions.
  • Knowledge of and experience executing practices to support trade data attribute determinations under US Trade Agreements Act for government-sold products.
  • Capable of documenting rationale and supporting evidence for trade data attributes to ensure compliance and proper record keeping.
  • Experience managing the quality and integrity of global trade data within data repositories and related systems.
  • Proactive approach to process improvement, with a focus on enhancing workflows, documentation, databases, and data quality.
