We are looking for an experienced DB2 DBA with IMS expertise to manage, support, and optimize enterprise database environments on mainframe systems. The role involves database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and close coordination with application and infrastructure teams.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support DB2 (z/OS) and IMS DB environments
• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain DB2 and IMS databases
• Perform database performance monitoring and tuning
• Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
• Handle space management, reorganization, and database cleanup
• Resolve database-related incidents and provide production support
• Implement security, access control, and compliance standards
• Support application deployments and schema changes
• Work with development teams for SQL optimization and design reviews
• Document procedures and maintain operational runbooks

Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ Years
• Location: Chennai/Bangalore/Hyd

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in DB2 DBA on z/OS
• Good working knowledge of IMS DB (DL/I)
• Experience with DB2 utilities (REORG, RUNSTATS, COPY, RECOVER, LOAD, UNLOAD)
• Knowledge of IMS utilities and database recovery processes
• Proficiency in JCL, TSO/ISPF
• Experience with performance tools (Omegamon, RMF, or similar)
• Understanding of mainframe storage and dataset management
