Role & responsibilities
To orchestrate and lead the strategic activities of sourcing and procurement for Indirect Purchases (non technical). The role is expected to streamline supply chain processes, cultivate robust vendor relationships, and implement innovative procurement strategies. With a commitment to achieving cost efficiencies and ensuring compliance with Suzlon's internal policies and local laws governing procurement, the Lead Indirect Procurement aims to optimize sourcing practices.
Financial Management and Sustainability:
Exercise financial savviness and sustainability orientation in procurement decisions, considering Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors. Demonstrate fiduciary responsibility in procurement-related financial decisions. Integrate sustainability principles into procurement practices. Monitor and optimize gross margins and operating margins through strategic procurement.
Cost Optimization and Reduction:
The Lead Indirect Procurement is responsible for bringing down the Cost of Services and Goods through strategic sourcing and negotiation tactics. Identify opportunities for cost reduction in the supply chain. Implement strategies to achieve a reduction in overall costs. Analyze various costs to optimize related procurement costs.
Strategic Sourcing and Business Acumen:
Conduct strategic sourcing initiatives to align with business goals. Demonstrate a deep understanding of market dynamics, competition, and services and consumable costings and innovation. Integrate business acumen to align procurement strategies with overall business objectives. Utilize strong negotiation skills and business acumen to enhance strategic sourcing and overall procurement effectiveness.
Supply Chain Management and Vendor Development:
Create and maintain a robust supply chain by developing relationships with vendors to ensure business continuity. Establish and manage a diversified vendor base for critical components. Evaluate vendors based on proximity to business operations and strategic alignment. Implement supply chain risk management strategies to mitigate disruptions.
Forecasting, Planning, and Risk Hedging:
Develop and implement robust forecasting and planning processes to anticipate market trends, demand fluctuations, and services / consumable availability. Mitigate risks through proactive risk hedging strategies, minimizing the impact of potential disruptions on the supply chain and ensuring continuous availability of services and resources
People / Learning:
Build right Teams, Lead & Manage Teams effectively, Keep the team moral high and build High performance culture in the company. Develop Capability & Skills in the talent - continuous learning, empower teams & individual, demonstrate all leadership competencies.
Preferred candidate profile
Education:
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline is typically required.
An advanced degrees, such as a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Supply Chain Management or Procurement.
Professional Certifications:
Industry-recognized certifications, such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), or Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS), can enhance the candidate's credentials.
A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, and supply chain management is often sought.
Specific experience in procurement of services and consumables is highly valuable.
