Industrial Designer

Job Purpose:

The Assistant Manager - Industrial Designer will be responsible for conceptualizing and developing motorcycle designs from initial ideas to production-ready solutions. The incumbent will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Clay Modelers, Engineers, and Digital Sculptors, to create motorcycles that embody Royal Enfield’s legacy while pushing the boundaries of design.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct research, sketch, and visualize innovative motorcycle concepts aligned with Royal Enfield’s design philosophy.
• Develop motorcycle designs from initial sketches to digital 3D models, ensuring a balance between aesthetics, functionality, and manufacturability.
• Work closely with clay modelers to refine design proportions and surfaces through physical prototypes.
• Create high-quality 3D models using Blender, Rhino, or Alias to communicate design intent effectively.
• Collaborate with the engineering and product teams to translate design concepts into feasible production models.
• Stay updated with motorcycle design trends, materials, and technologies to enhance design innovation.
• Prepare and present design proposals through high-quality renders, sketches, and presentations.

Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Design, Transportation Design, or a related field.

Experience:

• 2 - 3 years of experience in motorcycle design, preferably in a two-wheeler or automotive company.
• Strong sketching and visualization skills to quickly communicate design ideas.
• Proficiency in Blender for 3D modeling and rendering.
• Knowledge of Alias, Rhino, or Gravity Sketch is a plus.
• Experience working with clay modeling teams for refining surface designs.
• Understanding of motorcycle ergonomics, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced design environment and handle multiple projects.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
