As we continue to grow, we are seeking an energetic and qualified Industrial Maintenance Electrician to take our team to the next level of excellence we are striving for. What We're Looking For: We are currently hiring a full-time non-exempt (eligible for overtime) Industrial Maintenance Electrician. This role will ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all electrical and control equipment through troubleshooting, repair, installation, and preventive maintenance. In addition to daily maintenance activities, the Industrial Electrician plays a key role in helping to enhance equipment performance, increase reliability, and support the overall safety and productivity goals of the plant. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Perform electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on production and packaging equipment used in food processing operations. • Install, modify, and maintain electrical systems, including motors, conveyors, control panels, sensors, and lighting. • Diagnose and repair issues involving PLCs, VFDs, and other automated control systems. • Support production by responding quickly to electrical breakdowns and minimizing equipment downtime. • Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical components according to established schedules. • Ensure all electrical work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA regulations, and company safety standards. • Collaborate with mechanics, production operators, engineers, and supervisors to plan and execute equipment repairs and upgrades. • Maintain accurate documentation of electrical work performed, including updates to schematics and PM records. • Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment and production lines. • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance equipment reliability and energy efficiency. • Maintain a clean and organized work area and promote a culture of safety. *This is not necessarily an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, skills, efforts, requirements or working conditions associated with the job. Knowledge, Skill and Experience Required: • Strong troubleshooting skills with electrical and control systems in an industrial or manufacturing setting. • Experience working with PLCs, VFDs, motor controls, and relay logic. • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams. • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and electrical safety practices. • Familiarity with automated production and packaging equipment used in food processing environments. • Proficient in the use of electrical testing instruments such as multimeters, megohm meters, and clamp meters. • Solid mechanical aptitude and understanding of how electrical systems integrate with mechanical processes. • Strong communication and teamwork skills; able to work effectively with maintenance and production teams. • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. • Computer literacy for maintenance documentation, PM systems, and basic control programming interfaces. Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have supervisory duties. Required Education/Training/Certification Qualifications: • Valid Journeyman Electrician License from the State of MI. • Preferred 3-5 years of experience as an Industrial or Maintenance Electrician in a manufacturing or processing environment (food industry experience a plus). • Demonstrated experience with 480V three phase systems, control circuits, and low-voltage wiring. • Experience with PLC-based systems, VFD, sensors, and motor controls. • Ability to work safely with energized equipment following proper lockout/tagout procedures and electrical safety standards. • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs., climb ladders, and work in a variety of environments including wet or refrigerated areas. • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or off-shift hours as needed to support production demands. • Computer use (Microsoft Word & Excel). • Valid MI State driver's license.
