Responsibilities
The Nursing Informatics Specialist utilizes clinical nursing knowledge to participate in the planning, design, build, testing, training, and implementation of clinical applications utilized by PMC Regional Hospital. The Clinical Informatics Nurse identifies opportunities where the clinical information systems can be utilized to optimize workflow for clinical processes. Champions and represents the clinician's needs in the planning, designing, building and implementation of the clinical information systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Assist appropriate clinical, ancillary and physician resources in the review and modification of policies and procedures to assure alignment with regulatory guidelines. Ensure policies and procedures are developed and/or updated as necessary to coincide with the implementation of new clinical information systems functionality.
+ Assists with program activities to meet accreditation standards.
+ Facilitate or participate in the development of required reports needed for Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI), Compliance, and regulatory management of the data in the clinical information systems.
+ Collaborates in the development, charting and documentation templates for use in nursing practice.
+ Coordinates, designs and develops evidence-based practice documentation and processing with practice area.
+ Maintain membership on, or consultation to, appropriate committees, or task forces as needed to facilitate the ongoing process of the design, implementation and revision for clinical information systems.
+ Ensures inclusion of nursing data and information in design of planned information systems.
+ Provides education to clinical staff and Providers regarding information system's clinical applications.
+ Assists clinical staff in identifying cause and solution to computer issues.
+ Designated Superuser for the current EMR.
+ All other duties assigned.
Qualifications
+ Current licensure in this state.
+ Strong communication skills for training and education of technology to the rest of the healthcare team
+ Demonstration of solid and effective written, interpersonal, oral and presentation skills. Ability to plan and facilitate meetings with diverse participants
+ Under general supervision, must be able to prioritize, organize, assess, and reallocate work to meet deadlines. Ability and commitment to meet aggressive deadlines and cope in a fast-paced environment
+ Current BLS Certification.
+ Mental and physical health sufficient to meet the demands of the position.
+ Intermittent physical mobility/activity including walking, standing, sitting, light lifting, pulling, or pushing of carts and equipment, etc. Must be able to bend body downward at the waist and be able to kneel.
USD $37.00/Hr. USD $45.00/Hr.
