The Information Systems (IS) Analyst is responsible for developing a sound knowledge for researching, planning, coordinating, and recommending business, cost, strategy, software, and system choices to meet an organization's business requirements. The IS Analyst understands problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommends solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals.

The IS Analyst is an internal consultancy role responsible for assisting processes, technology, cost, and strategy while assisting in the investigation of options for improving and bridging the needs of the business with the use of Information Systems and Technology.
