Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Mac Management Engineer with deep expertise in macOS device lifecycle management through Microsoft Intune, with additional experience in Jamf Pro considered a strong advantage. This role will lead the design, deployment, security hardening, and operational governance of our enterprise macOS fleet, ensuring a world-class, compliant, and seamless end-user experience.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Lead end-to-end macOS management using Intune: enrollment, configuration profiles, compliance, app deployment, patching, security baselines, and reporting.
+ Architect and optimize modern MDM workflows for macOS including Automated Device Enrollment (ADE), supervised enrollment, bootstrap tokens, and conditional access readiness.
+ Develop, maintain, and enhance custom scripts, policies, and remediation workflows for macOS devices (bash/zsh, configuration profiles, JSON payloads, PLIST management).
+ Define and implement zero-touch provisioning, Autopilot/ADE processes, and lifecycle automation for Mac devices.
+ Collaborate with Security, Networking, and Productivity teams to enforce macOS hardening, encryption (FileVault), certificates, SSO extensions, and compliance standards.
+ Oversee application packaging and deployment for Mac (Intune LOB packages, PKG/DMG handling, notarization, app updates).
+ Lead troubleshooting of complex macOS issues across MDM, networking, identity, application, and OS layers.
+ Monitor, analyze, and report on macOS fleet health, OS adoption, policy compliance, and user experience KPIs.
+ Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, and act as the technical SME for all Mac-related initiatives.
+ Partner with cross-functional teams to drive modernization, migration from legacy tooling, and continuous improvement of the Apple ecosystem.
**Required Skills & Experience**
+ 6–10+ years hands-on experience managing macOS in enterprise environments.
+ Expert in Intune MDM for macOS, including configuration profiles, scripts, compliance rules, FileVault, app packaging, and device onboarding.
+ Strong knowledge of macOS internals: file system, system extensions, privacy controls (TCC), kernel/system logs, user profiles, and OS security frameworks.
+ Proficiency in bash/zsh scripting, configuration profile creation, PLIST manipulation, device identity flows, and automation.
+ Experience with Jamf Pro (policies, smart groups, packages, scripts, configuration profiles) is a major plus.
+ Solid understanding of Azure AD / Entra ID, SSO/MFA flows, certificate-based auth, and modern identity for Mac.
+ Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across MDM, networking, authentication, OS, and application layers.
+ Strong documentation, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills.
+ Experience working in regulated industries (life sciences, finance, healthcare) is preferred.
**Preferred Skills**
+ Familiarity with Netskope, CrowdStrike, Office for Mac, and enterprise productivity app ecosystems.
+ Knowledge of CI/CD for device management, Git-based policy deployment workflows, or automation frameworks.
+ Experience with both Intel and Apple Silicon devices from a management and packaging perspective.
