Inshorts is looking for a talented Data Scientist with a strong background in computer science and statistics to join our team and help us make data-driven decisions. You'll analyze large datasets, implement statistical models, and provide insights that drive key business outcomes.

Lead Data Scientist-

A Senior Data Scientist at Inshorts is expected to have 5+ years of experience with strong skills in Python, SQL, and machine learning (ML) libraries like TensorFlow and PyTorch. Key responsibilities include building and deploying ML models, conducting statistical analysis, and working with big data technologies like Hadoop and Spark. The role requires a strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and excellent communication skills to explain complex findings.

Key responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models in a production environment.

Perform statistical analysis using techniques such as A/B testing, regression, and time series analysis.

Collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets.

Utilize big data frameworks like Hadoop and Spark for data processing.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product decisions through data insights.

Required skills and qualifications

Experience: 5+ years in data science or applied machine learning.

Programming: Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience in libraries like Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.

Machine Learning: Proven expertise in building and deploying ML models, with experience in techniques like regression, classification, and deep learning.

Big Data: Experience with distributed computing frameworks (Hadoop, Spark) and platforms like AWS EMR or Databricks.

Cloud: Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Data Modeling: Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and experience with various databases (e.g., MongoDB).

Communication: Excellent ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Data Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis using advanced Python libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy) and SQL.

Statistical Analysis: Apply statistical methods (e.g., hypothesis testing, regression) to extract insights from data.

Data Visualization: Create clear, informative dashboards and reports using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Matplotlib/Seaborn.

Business Insights: Translate complex data into actionable recommendations.

Data Quality: Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and integrity across all sources.

Data Modeling: Design and maintain predictive models to support business decision-making.

Machine Learning & Predictive Modeling

Build and maintain predictive and recommendation models that enhance personalization, engagement, and retention.

Experiment with GenAI models and LLM-based architectures (OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, etc.) to drive intelligent automation and text understanding.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, marketing, and engineering, to support data-driven strategies.

Requirements:

experience in data analysis, preferably with a focus on statistical methods or machine learning.

Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, particularly in libraries used for statistical analysis (e.g., statsmodels, SciPy).

Experience/ Good to Have with GenAI models, LLMs, and RAG pipelines for data retrieval and contextual AI applications.

Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and Python-based visualization libraries (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn).

Strong understanding of data modeling concepts, including experience with databases and cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).

Proficiency in statistical techniques, including hypothesis testing, A/B testing, regression analysis, and time series analysis.

Knowledge of machine learning algorithms (e.g., random forests, k-means) is a plus.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analysis to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with big data platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).

Master's degree or higher in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field.

Experience implementing machine learning models in production environments.

Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and data engineering practices.
