Job Title: Inside Sales Executive – LCL

Department: Sales

Reporting to: Inside Sales Manager / Sales Head

Location: Mumbai


Position Summary

The Inside Sales Executive is responsible for managing outbound sales activities for LCL. This role involves lead generation, customer engagement, quote preparation, coordination with pricing and operations teams, and ensuring successful conversion of leads into bookings. The role demands strong communication, organizational, and follow-up skills to deliver a seamless customer experience and contribute to revenue targets.


Key Responsibilities

1. Lead Management

  • Handle enquiries from digital platforms, referrals, cold calls, retention and field sales transfers.
  • Qualify leads based on shipment volume, urgency, trade lane, and conversion potential.
  • Maintain and update all leads in the CRM with 100% data accuracy.

2. Customer Engagement

  • Understand customer needs, shipment history, and logistics challenges.
  • Present Swift Cargo’s LCL/FCL capabilities, including transit times, routings, space availability, and documentation requirements.
  • Follow up proactively via phone, email, and messaging platforms.

3. Quoting & Negotiation

  • Coordinate with pricing team to get the best possible rates for LCL/FCL lanes.
  • Prepare professional, error-free quotes using the company’s standard template.
  • Negotiate rates within pre-approved margins.
  • Ensure quotes are sent within 24 hours of inquiry (or earlier for priority lanes).

4. Conversion & Booking

  • Track all sent quotations and convert leads to bookings through consistent follow-up.
  • Coordinate booking handover with operations, documentation, and customer service teams. (Docs list to be shared with executives)
  • Share booking confirmations, schedules, and SOPs with the client.

5. CRM & Reporting

  • Log all sales activities and customer interactions in the CRM system.
  • Maintain accurate records of quote sent, status updates, and customer feedback.
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance reports to management.

6. Coordination

  • Work closely with:
  • Pricing team: for updated rates and market trends.
  • Customer Service: Perfect coordination between sales, shipper and rest of the departments
  • Documentation team: to ensure pre-shipment compliance.
  • Operations team: to monitor timely execution.
  • Field sales team: for client visits, escalations, or large account coordination.


Qualifications & Skills

Education:

  • Graduate in Logistics/Business Administration.
  • MBA preferred but not mandatory.
  • Freshers willing to learn could also be considered

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience in inside sales or customer service with a freight forwarding/logistics company.
  • Specific exposure to LCL & FCL ocean freight products is mandatory.

Technical Skills:

  • Working knowledge of international trade, Incoterms, HS codes, documentation, etc.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce, Zoho, etc.)
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Soft Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication in English and Hindi.
  • High attention to detail and process discipline.
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer-centric approach.
  • Ability to handle pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
