Summary
The Installation Lead/Systems Engineer II plans, coordinates, and executes the physical and virtual installation of Navy C4I and STACC systems under PMW 790. This position bridges engineering design and field execution, ensuring all installations meet configuration, cybersecurity, and performance standards. The engineer collaborates with multiple technical teams and government stakeholders to deliver fully validated, operationally ready systems at shore and expeditionary sites.
Responsibilities
+ Lead installation planning, scheduling, and coordination across engineering, logistics, cyber, and fleet-support teams.
+ Conduct pre-installation site surveys, review drawings and BOMs, and validate site readiness.
+ Develop installation plans, work scopes, and installation documentation packages in alignment with approved engineering baselines.
+ Oversee or perform hardware rack-and-stack, cable management, and system configuration during onsite installs.
+ Execute System Operational Verification Tests (SOVTs) and provide installation reports, as-built drawings, and issue logs.
+ Coordinate Fielding Review and Configuration Board (FRCB) inputs and support configuration-control documentation.
+ Facilitate onsite training and turnover to local administrators or operational personnel.
+ Ensure all installation activities comply with safety, environmental, and cybersecurity requirements.
+ Serve as technical liaison between design centers, fleet sites, and program offices for installation status and issue resolution.
+ Coordinate with FIO, GIC, and engineering teams to integrate installation activities, execute SOVTs, and deliver end-user training on installed systems.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent technical field (or equivalent experience).
+ Experience in FRCB processes and hardware/software integration.
+ Experience in DoD installations and integration.
+ Experience coordinating shipboard C4I installations within NAVWAR or SPAWAR programs is highly desirable.
+ Familiarity with configuration control procedures.
+ Ability to travel CONUS/OCONUS and work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team; ready for occasional onsite or shipboard support as required.
+ Proven problem-solving abilities with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
+ Excellent communication skills: able to explain technical issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Clearance:Secret (eligible for TS/SCI)
