Lift Installation Mechanic

About You

You will be the face of the OTIS brand and responsible for installing Lifts, Escalators, and Travellators in compliance with the relevant codes and OTIS specifications and procedures.

  • 12 months fixed‑term contract
  • Reports to the Project Manager
  • This role falls under the local EBA, and your hourly rates are determined by your classification

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation of new equipment and modernisation lifts, working to the highest safety and environmental standards while ensuring service targets are met.
  • Ensure timely completion of defects identified during service and hand‑over inspection in coordination with the Project Manager.
  • Maintain company tools, equipment and materials properly and safeguard such property.
  • Perform work in accordance with the relevant lift industry codes and standards.
  • Comply with the company’s Environmental Health and Safety policies and procedures, including reporting any conditions that may impact the environment or any employee.
  • Maintain and work on the Quality System.
  • Attend customer hand‑over inspection/service inspections on installation and modernisation projects.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and help facilitate continuous improvement to satisfy the customers of your processes.

What you will need to be successful

  • Experience in Adjustment / Commissioning work would be beneficial.
  • Working with heights, basic rigging and hold a valid driver’s licence.
  • Hold full working rights in Australia.
  • Has relevant lift experience and proven ability to work safely as part of a team or independently, depending on requirements.
  • Enjoys communicating with various levels of stakeholders and working closely with others in the field.
  • Solutions‑oriented, independent, and well organised.
  • Willing to travel in and out of the region and able to work unsupervised.
  • Has the ability to perform knowledge transfer on information and skills through training.
  • Able to plan and prioritise tasks and complete them in a timely manner.
