Job Description

About the Role
We are seeking a Design Sales & Business Development Specialist — someone who understands design fundamentals, materials, and pricing from the interiors / furniture / modular / premium FFE ecosystem, and who enjoys client-facing conversion.
This is not a core design delivery role and not necessarily a senior designer role.
The role sits at the intersection of sales + design literacy, focused on:
- Client discovery & requirements
- Offering relevant material/FFE/design understanding
- Preparing and drafting basic scope presentations (SPs)
- Driving conversion with HNI clients
- Handing off confirmed projects to the delivery/design team
Ideal candidates come from interior product studios, bespoke furniture houses, modular brands, or interior design studios with strong exposure to materials, price points, feasibility & communication.
Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement & Conversion
- Meet inbound leads & studio referrals, understand client needs, and guide them through feasibility, timelines, and indicative pricing.
- Convert qualified leads into confirmed clients through persuasive communication and clarity of design scope.
- Manage HNI-facing presentations with excellent grooming, articulation, and presence (critical due to clientele profile).
Design Literacy & SP Preparation
- Draft basic SPs (Scope Presentations) focusing on materials, finishes, product types, and indicative budgets.
- Explain material options, finishes, construction methods, and price differentials clearly to clients.
- Collaborate with internal design team for deeper technical validation when needed (no heavy design delivery).
Business Development & Networking
- Build and nurture relationships with architects, developers, and premium design ecosystem partners.
- Represent the studio at exhibitions, studio walkthroughs, and partner networking events.
- Stay aware of market pricing, competitive offerings, and premium interior trends.
Internal Coordination
- Hand projects off to the Principal Designer post-conversion with clean documentation.
- Collect client insights and pipeline status for management.
Ideal Candidate Profile
You're a strong fit if you:
- Come from interiors / furniture / modular / FFE / allied design ecosystem.
- Understand materials, finishes, hardware, construction basics, FFE categories.
- Know price points and cost logic well enough to discuss budgets intelligently.
- Have strong client presence and excellent communication skills.
- Enjoy client conversion — not execution.
- Present yourself phenomenally well (critical for HNI interactions).
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: 2–6 years in design studios, furniture studios, modular/wardrobe brands, or interior BD roles.
Backgrounds that fit well:
- Interior Designer / Architect who enjoys client conversion
- Furniture / Modular Wardrobe / Bespoke Product Studio BD
- Interior Product Specialist (FFE/Millwork/Lighting/Finishes)
- Bonus: Experience in studios such as (but not limited to) Alzorg, Proform, Nivasa, AMCAD, Beyond Design or similar.
- Bonus: Network within HNI/real estate/developer communities.
