As a JZID Interior Designer, your role is to combine creativity and technical skills with thorough understanding of the design and production process, in order to produce highly creative, environmentally conscious and budget responsive spaces for clients. You should have exceptional design skills, a background in workplace design or interior architecture and a portfolio of innovative design concepts. You must be an integral part of your team and actively foster a respectful, creative, and inspiring design environment.
Responsibilities:
- Work under a Project Manager through all phases of the design process.
- Perform Interior Design tasks, including client needs, conceptual design, space planning, construction documentation, and administration.
- Select and present finishes, furniture, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting.
- Create Demolition Plans, Construction Plans, Power & Communication Plans, Reflected Ceiling Plans, Finish Plans, and Furniture Plans.
- Complete construction documents, including elevations, details, specifications, and material selections for bidding, permitting, and construction.
- Provide design support and documentation during the execution of design concepts.
- Collaborate with consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators.
- Meet with clients, discuss requirements, prepare presentations, and present work.
- Handle construction administration tasks, including submittals, RFI responses, change orders, client meetings, and punch lists.
- Help maintain and organize the resource library.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in interior design or a related field from an accredited school.
- 3-5 years of interior design experience for Junior Interior Designer
- 5-8 years of interior design experience for Intermediate Interior Designer
- Licensed (RID) Registered Interior Designer not required but preferred
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, 3D, and other modeling software (Enscape is a plus).
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications.
- Strong graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas.
- Must be a US Citizen or a permanent resident legally working in the USA.
