Your Role
As a Gensler’s Interior Designer, you will tap into your boundless creativity and passion for design to produce unique and functionally beautiful spaces for clients. You are a self-motivated, team player who is ready for active participation in all phases of the design process. With you as part of the design team, interiors have never been so engaging.
What You Will Do
Perform interior design assignments that include interpreting client’s needs, space planning, conceptual design, schematic design, design development and construction documentation Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lightingCreates initial concept packages with a strong design story, to guide the design process through project completionConducts programming efforts through space planning studies to arrive at final approved plan that meet the goals of clientsSculpts interior spaces as a holistic experience including specification of furniture, lighting, artwork and finishes/materialsLeads day-to-day project coordination efforts with the ability to prioritize deadlines, manage communication and coordination with clients and consultantsCommunicates conceptual design ideas through 2D and 3D presentation/design drawingsWork with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectivesParticipates in the construction administration of projects - including review of submittals and finish samples as well as value engineering efforts to maintain design intentYour Qualifications
8+ years of experience with the design of workplace interior design experiencesDiploma / Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of design or architectureStrong planning abilities, including development of design concepts, knowledge of furniture and finishes, planning codes, and budgetsSelf-starters with good verbal and written communication skills both with team and clientsStrong presentation skillsProficiency in the use of Revit, AutoCAD as a minimum, other 3D design programs is a plusExperience of leading the design team is a plusFluent in both Japanese and EnglishLife at Gensler
