We are presently searching for an Intermediate Architectural Designer for our Retail studio. The Architectural Designer is responsible for producing technical drawings for retail projects.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
Assists in overall technical design for projectsReview of engineering drawings to ensure they comply with design solutionWorks with technical staff to resolve inconsistencies in drawingsAid in the creation of floor plans, elevations, architectural and millwork details, and overall design intent sets for the Request for Proposal (RFP) process and distribution to architects.Review and redline construction documents, shop drawings, and related submittalsProduces, reviews and finalizes space plans for projectsExtensive knowledge of detailing and finalizes details on projectsReviews and produces final cost estimatesIn unusual circumstances may be required to assist with support for field surveysManages overall design budgetEnsures adherence to set budget and immediately informs PM and/or client of any potential variances to the budgetOversees tasks and provide feedback on work productOrganizes and conducts client interviews to determine space needs and requirementsContinues to provide needed information to client on design specifications; good working knowledge of Affinity program toolQualifications:
Graduate of architecture school: equivalent experience may be substitutedMinimum 2 years CD/code review experience.3+ years’ experience in Retail design projects preferred - Ideally in banking or fast paced retail roll outStrong Revit SkillsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of design principlesExtensive knowledge of store planning methodologyProficient with the concepts of furniture layoutExpert sketching and rendering skillsExpert architecture detailing skillsExtensive knowledge of CDs and proceduresExtensive knowledge of building systems, codes and ADA requirementsExtensive knowledge of contract administrationCommitment to support projects through peaks and valleysIntermediate MS Office Suite skillsAdvanced Revit skillsAdvanced Adobe Creative Suite skillsAffinity Program skills or equivalentExtensive verbal and written communication skillsExtensive presentation and graphic communicationDemonstrated ability to manage and lead staff through a combination of direct authority and subject matter expertiseWork samples or a portfolio that includes technical drawings in Revit and construction drawings/documents are required with your application.
