Job Summary

The Intern, Engineering Track – Canada (Champlain) isresponsible for participating in the development of a Capital Plan for the
region that allocates funding based on information from different data sources.
The role contributes to planning infrastructure investments and improving
safety at CN.

Major Responsibilities

  • Assist the Chief Engineering Eastern Region and the Manager Track Quality build multi-year Capital Plans
  • Collect and consolidate multiple track conditions and repair history data from multiple sources
  • Develop templates for prioritizing Rail, Tie, and Surfacing programs
  • Learn the basics of track structure and critical parameters regarding and the structure’s quality and degradation
  • Support the Chief Engineering Eastern Region and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in preparing business cases related to Special Capital for similar programs
